Ministries at Christ The King Parish - Arua

Christ the King Parish in Arua City is a vibrant urban parish under the Arua Diocese. Its ministries focus on spiritual growth, community service, and youth engagement.

The parish is currently led by Rev. Fr. Pius Yobuta (Parish Priest), assisted by Fr. William Andima and Fr. Morish Angutoko.

Liturgical & Prayer Ministries

These groups are in charge of making sure our parish’s spiritual life and worship services run smoothly:

Liturgy Committee: They’re the ones who plan the order of Mass and special feast days.

Choirs: Our parish has a lively musical ministry! Some of the well-known groups include:

  • Christ the King Church Choir
  • Augustine Melody Choir
  • Holy Trinity Choir

Altar Servers: Young boys and girls who help the priests during Mass.

Lectors: They’re the ministers of the Word who share the scriptures during services.

Eucharistic Adoration: Special times for prayer before the Blessed Sacrament

Lay Apostolates & Devotional Groups

The parish facilitates the formation of several groups that promote community engagement and specific devotions:

• Catholic Charismatic Renewal: This group emphasizes spirit-infused prayer gatherings and healing services.

• Legion of Mary: This group is dedicated to Marian devotion and apostolic work, such as visiting the sick.

• St. Vincent de Paul Society: This group focuses on charity and providing assistance to the impoverished and vulnerable within the city.

Small Christian Communities (SCCs): Local neighborhood cells where parishioners convene for Bible sharing and mutual support.

Youth & Education Ministries

Because the parish is located in a city, it’s especially dedicated to helping young people grow:

• Youth Apostolate: The Diocesan Youth Chaplain (Fr. William Andima, who lives here) leads this program, which includes organizing youth masses, retreats, and leadership training.

• Sunday School / Catechism: This program offers religious lessons to children who are getting ready for the Sacraments (Baptism, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation).

Social & Outreach Services

• Counselling Services: The parish provides psycho-social support through the Arua Diocese Catholic Counselling Services (AD-CCS).

• Family Life Desk: This desk is dedicated to helping couples prepare for marriage and supporting families that are strong and rooted in their Christian faith.

• Pontifical Missionary Societies (PMS): These societies are all about raising awareness about global missions and helping to spread the Gospel.
